Every year, youth in Missouri die in traffic accidents because they were not safely buckled in a seat belt. Unintentional vehicle crashes have been the second leading cause of injury death for Missouri children for more than five years in a row.
More than half (63%) of children who died in vehicle crashes in 2020 were teenagers. One in two deaths (51%) were among youth who were not wearing seatbelts.
Remind your teenager to buckle up. Seat belts save lives!
